Paint the Street
Thanks to EVERYONE who painted, volunteered, and performed! An amazing day of community and art!
The New York Times recently told the world about Cincinnati’s artsy swagger. Case-in-point: Last fall, people from across the region came together on Fountain Square to celebrate our city through the power of collective creativity. Cincinnati’s first-ever Splash Dance became an Internet hit, getting over 50,000 views!
This year, our second annual Ta Da celebration will take an unexpected twist. What we’re planning is just as amazing and fun and for everyone.
We are going to paint the street on September 26, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.*
Yep - our canvas will be the actual pavement of 12th Street from Main Street all the way to Central Parkway. This stretch of 12th Street is the backbone of a vibrant scene that is home to galleries, unique shops, restaurants, Art Academy, School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Know Theatre of Cincinnati, ArtWorks, Ensemble Theater, Music Hall, and our new offices too.

Everybody is welcome to paint! Bring your friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and more! We need an artsmob for this day! No one has ever created a public art installation like this - painting blocks of pavement in a major business district!
And it’s easy – we provide all the materials. Some of our fabulous friends are working with the community to create a design for all of us to complete.
Just like last year, we’ll working with Lightborne to create a video of the fun. We’ll use the video for the 2011 annual campaign for the arts, post it on YouTube, Facebook, websites, etc.
See you there!
